Our Beliefs

In a rootless and fractured culture, we find deep delight in the wholeness that deep roots give.

We believe that the Bible is the True Story of the whole world. It is the Story of a God of love, who has existed from all eternity in loving relationship—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It is the Story of this God creating the world and everything in it—in love. It is the Story of humanity rebelling against this God of love and plunging both the world and ourselves into sin and brokenness.

But it’s most of all a rescue Story.

It’s the Story of a God who didn’t abandon his people or his world, but instead, came in the person of Jesus to rescue and redeem his broken people and his broken world. At the heart of this rescue Story is the person and work of Jesus.  Our heart’s desire is to embraceembody, and extend this redemptive Story of Jesus to the people and places of Fort Worth and beyond.

We stand on the shoulders of faithful men and women who have gone before us in studying the Scriptures and living out their faith across times, cultures, and challenges. We embrace the historic Christian faith as expressed in the ancient creeds of the universal church (the Apostles’ and Nicene Creeds). As a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America, we trace our roots through the Reformed Protestant tradition. Our doctrinal beliefs are summarized in the Westminster Confession of Faith. Our membership in the PCA provides us with regional accountability and support as well as partnership in mission both at home and abroad.
